Roman mosaic glass gaming die. Circa 1st century CE. 23 mm. Formed of a dark blue cube with turquois and orange pips on each face. Ref: Swansea University’s Egypt Centre, house of life, games case. The example on display was published by the collector, Hilton Price in the second of his two catalogues in 1908. This die is identical to one in the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Leiden. Ex old English collection, property of a deceased estate.
